Music Mod

I'm thinking about making some new music for UFO, maybe to help out other mods or people just seeking more "depth" with the music already given to them. Anyone think this would be a waste of time? Don't know hehe ;\

If you want to help out that is fine with me I have to figure out how to pack the mp3's / ogg's / etc whatever output the game takes into a mod file. I believe there is a tutorial on it somewhere in which I am going to go read.

Can't be of much help, but a music mod sounds great. I think there is a few mods in need of music assistance too by the way.

Strahd made a music mod, it shouldnt be difficult to understand what he did.

 

As far as i know it goes like this:

 

These are the files you should look at:

share\configs\music\config_ufogame.cfg

share\music\mp3s\

share\music\wavs

 

In the config file there is 5 main styles defined, each is used for a separate part of the game. A main style contains sub styles, each sub style has a name and a set of filenames, either mp3 or wav files.

 

We had a discussion on this a while back, and i think we concluded that you couldnt add substyles, but you could add filenames to a substyles. When there are more than one filename in a sub style the game will randomly choose which one to play.
