Getting the TFTD music to work on a new computer

To make a long story short, I had to replace my computer. The new one runs TFTD well, and not even too fast (well, a bit too fast, but still playable), with one notable exception - TFTD has no music. Tried it on General Midi, Sound Blaster and Sound Blaster AWE (?), and even checked the "address" with another DOS game with sound auto-detect; still, no music. Sound works great.

Win 98SE

Pentium 4 2.6MHz

256MB DDR RAM

GeForce FX5200

RealTek AC97 integral sound card

MPU-401 compativble MIDI driver

Patched TFTD DOS US (?) version

 

Any way to solve this?

you may have luck with DosBox it has a good sound emulator and it will slow the game down to.
