sigget
If those bases are in the biomass and you havent upgraded to version 1.2 then its because the biomass are taking over them, you'll have to switch them to repulsors before you start the time again (version 1.2 does this for you)
BlackAlmaz
this also took a wile for me...2 days to get...the bio stuf kills every thing..u realy should get the patch or expand quickly....do the verey first mission u get in the biomass...just go the and get out if u want...and u'll get the sample...and with the transagent theroy and others u can get the new base type....its a base type so u have to change your closest bases to that...but they will get attacked alot...so keep a base near by that has chopper abilatys...once u do all the research u can just change toother bases....all u need after that is the intergalactic ship... the treaty and the lair to be researched...but if your done and u just want to get your guys up a few levels before u go to the moon than be my guest .... Cpl. Facehugger
You need a planter that hasn't completed its mission, otherwise the biomass will consume your bases because you have no effective defense. That makes me think, why couldn't you just douse it in napalm?
Accounting Troll
If you shoot down a planter that hasn't completed its mission, there is a random chance that the bio-node thing has been smashed to smithereens when the planter crash landed. It will usually take you several tries before you recover a sufficiently intact planter. The same thing happens early in the game with the requirement to recover INTACT UFO components before you can research aircraft enhancements. I've had better results when the captain of a planter thought that landing near one of my bases would be a good idea... Either way, it's best tp put off doing the Russian base mission until after you have recovered a bio-node from a planter because UFO recovery missions become a lot harder. If you haven't got the technology for biomass-repulse bases yet, doing a base mission in the biomass is totally pointless unless you want to give your soldiers the extra experience. Cpl. Facehugger
Heh, I assaulted 14 different planters this game, not a single one had bionode material. In Fact, bionode analysis doesn't even show up in my unable to research list! (I am using the rebalance mod 4.1, so that might be the cause.) I perfer doing missions on the biomass, no deathbellows. rocksk
[i perfer doing missions on the biomass, no deathbellows. ] I know what you mean. deathbellows. I will advise, see one, turn tail and run, think later.
Accounting Troll
Cpl. Facehugger, how are you getting on with those transgenant autopsies? In my experience, Transgenant Theory and Biomass Growth Theory don't turn up even in the not ready for research list until you have performed a few autopsies. They then both turn up at once. If you have an intact bionode, it will show up as a completed prerequisite for the Biomass Growth Theory.
Cpl. Facehugger
I have done the Cudgel, morelman, flapper, plecton, sporeblower, fish, chomper, muckstar, jammer, car-crab, deathbellows, scuttlebug, firetick, man-o-war.
Chryssalid_Victim
That's quite a few. Do you need anything else like Live Reticulan or something. I've only got to that point once and just randomly managed to get an intact node and a live reccy (having lost most of my squad...stupid Russia now I can't get on a mission without getting Psi'ed to death on that game....although there is always the stun rod mod You mind controlled WHO?! *ZAP!!* Hope that this "lack of Biomass" problem isn't to do with 4.1 since that's what I'm running now Oh well, let us know how it turns out
Cpl. Facehugger
Nope, I just finished reti debriefing (immiediately after russian mission) Right now I am hoping that the biomass can't creep across the ocean to reach my isolated island bases like hawaii and the Azores. Chryssalid_Victim
hmmmmm. Bit of a pickle.......you could just have been unlucky 14 times At least you've got a large eough area to avoid the Deathbellows. *shudders* hate those things Always some good in everything. On a side note I didn't get Biomass Node until MILES after I initially did Russia although that mey be something to do with Being a complete muppet and charging in thinking it'd be easy..........oh dear, total time for previosu parts of the game about 12 hours give or take.....it took us( me and mate playing for the first time) 3 (including food) to come up with an acceptable solution to the Russian problem, it took us almost an hour to damn well get inside the base....we were'nt used to multiple rockets . Then quite a few more to avoid getting shredded.
