A Great Tactic For Early Missions

I noticed this works very well for me on all sorts of missions early on in the game.

 

2xsnipers

1xheavy weapons (I use a grenade launcher)

2xMachine guns

2xshotgunners

 

Lay your troops out right from start so that they surround your snipers 1 shotgunner and machine gunner per side. Heavy weapons guy wherever you like.

Instead of running fro the aliens let some come to you. Your snipers will take most of their health if there close range they will be shotgunned to death and machine gunners can take out mid-range. Most aliens will come to youstraight away leaving about 1 or 2 left for easy picking.

 

Works very well for me this way you also hardly ever get hurt.

Oh yeah all my troops always have a medpack each just in case.

 

This is a really simple strategy but if you keep your snipers covered they can take out most aliens before they even get near your other troops.
