Space 1999
Hello everyone. I just got done downloading the Aralez rebalance 6.8 mod and am having trouble installing it after I unzipped it. This file is a "VFS" file and my PC doesn't have a way to read it. I found a thread a little farther down in this forum that redirected me to a page where I could get an VFS extractor program but it does not want to run after I unzip it either. I know that my Winzip is working OK as I have just finished downloading patches 1.1a, 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4 and they installed just fine. Any help would be appreciated, I've already completed this game once but have heard of all of the patches and rebalance mods and want to give it another go. Thanks!! Slaughter
Just put the .vfs file in your UFO:Aftermath folder, and start a new game. No need to open the file unless you're about to do some modding. Oh, and welcome to the boards!
Space 1999
Thanks for the info and the "welcome" Slaughter! I thought that the rebalance mod would have an installer program similiar to the patches. Do I need to rename the mod files or put them in a particular area of the UFO-Aftermath folder? Kret
Just place it where UFO:AM's main executable is and it will load the mod. Mods will be loaded as long as they have the .vfs extension and have in their name the string "mod". As far as I can tell, it doesn't matter where the string is as long it's in the name of the file. Aralez
Slaughter does this mean the 6.8 mod is still online and you still haven't added that readme ?!
