Howdy y'all!

scouring through my backup CDs i finally found the installation file for Email X-Com.

i haden't purchased it years ago, so it's still a time trial right now.

i started a game, did my turn and when i got to sending, it said it could not connect to the game server.

is there a newer version of the game? or a way to modify the server specification?

any chance purchasing and registering will somehow rectify this?

well, unfortunately there are no servers anymore. Hasbro shut them all down a while ago.

 

However, there is a way to make it work, a lovely little program called Tankmans serverless Ex-com. just grab it from the ex-com downloads section (on the main part of this site, games -> email x-com -> downloads)

 

you'll need that, and the turn sender. then just follow the instructions.

if you have any trouble, the answers are probably somewhere in this support forum already.

 

*ponders* i seem to recall someone was looking for the time based trial version a while back...

thx for the reply.. shortly after posting i saw the downloads section, downloaded Tankman's thing and spent hours wondering where ExOffline was because i haden't noticed it right below it.. finally thought to come back here to check... (silly me

 

original time-trial also rare nowadays - if any1 here needs, i'm Icq#7092898.. (though chances are those looking at this thread already have the game, but still)
