Jh316
The readme file that comes with the patch just says what the patch does, and not how to apply it.
Alan
are you refering to the fodder patch? if so:Last night I finally got in the mood for attacking this problem (slightlybored, slightly angry that there still isn't a patch around, as it's aVERY trivial problem to solve). After a couple of hours of programming andReverse Engineering, I've come up with the following solution. A loader.Simply stick the exe in your ufo directory and run that instead of theoriginal exe, and it will dynamically load&patch the game executable (inmemory, your original executable is left intact). The code is patched toquery DirectDraw for the pitch, and use a correct image display routine. admittedly it's burried, but easily findable if you read it instead of skimming it. NKF
As this was moved from the TFTD, I'll assume this is for the TFTDv2 patch, yes? It's been a long time since I installed the thing over my copy, so my memory might be a bit spotty in some places. I think all I did was place the files in the directory I installed TFTD in and then ran the executable that came with patch files. Any batch files or .exe files with likely sounding filenames would be the place to start. I might be confusing this with a different patch, but I vaguely remember the patch updater asking for the path to where TFTD was installed as a command line parameter. If it asks you that, then by all means, supply it. This would suggest that the patch needn't be in TFTD's directory... - NKF edit: Ah, rather than having myself attempting to grasp at straws, could you just give a directory listing of the files you got in the patch? Might jog my memory a bit.
