SadPhreak
I have long been a fan of the XCOM series in general and im one of the few whoactually made it through both the first and the second edition of the series. In my mind the third does not exist allthough i did enjoy InterCeptor albeit itbeing quite another style of what I so adore. To me, Aftermath is quite a succesfulbranch, allthough what i really liked in previous editions has been weeded out.(Enough flattering, lets get this thing going! ) Having put AM on ice for while, due to the severe research bug, i happily discoveredthe why i all of the sudden had come to a painstakingly halt. Alas.. It would seem (to me) a simple update of GFX driver has left me unable tofuther enjoy this awesome game (insert severe moaning here ). The related HW & SWis as listed; GeForce4 MX440SE on a Sony CPD-200ES Monitor, utilizing these drivers; GFX - NVidia GForce Driver (Released 2004-04-01, WAS functional)GFX - NVidia GForce Driver (Released 24-07-2004, the cause of my issue?)GFX - NVidia GForce Driver (Released 27-07-2004, no help at all, AM related) Please note that a backstep in GFX driver to the "was functional" version seems unableto solve the issue! Having scoured this forum for any known related issues/bugs, i have come up shortand border on the point of despair. My issue being that launching the game results in about a third of the screen being shown,as if AM tries to run in 1152*864 on a 1024*768 resolution setup. You follow me? Im ratheroff how to describe the issue better. It seems that the Refresh Rate has no influence, launching the game with any refresh rateresults in the same issue. Im soo stuck and I really, really wanna start this game overnow that i finally have a clue on how to progress, HEEELP! Should a dire need for more info regarding my setup be required, please state so !! A devoted fan, having lost his ambrose !!!

Kret
I have recently replied to a similar post over at the official forum. However it was an ATI card and it seems you might have already tried it, but just in case, try to follow the instructions step by step stated over here: https://forum.ufo-aftermath.com/index.php?showtopic=
SadPhreak
It seems that the Refresh Rate has no influence, launching the game with any refresh rateresults in the same issue It would seem that this issue is only happening with patch v1.3Currently i have v1.2 up and running .. Does this mean thatthat nasty research bug will still be lingering ?!?
Raion
Although when I first started the game, I was probably using 44.03 drivers, I am using the 53.03 drivers. 75Hz refresh allows (on mine) the Vertex Shading and VA Compability mode, while 85Hz refresh only allows the Compatiblity VA mode (or whatever it is).I am using 100Hz refresh rate now (but I have a 19 " monitor), so I know the moniter you are refrerring to. Try the 75Hz refresh rate, if running another refresh rate. At that point I do not know, but I do not have that problem.Maybe something changed. The drivers install to 256 color mode, so it has to be changed to 16bit color mode, although I am using 32bit color mode.Everything else is the default with DirectX and all of that.?? Aralez
This is maybe a dumb question, but did you try to re-run the "launcher.exe" in the UFOAM folder? I had graphic problems, too when i changed my card and had totally forgotten that setup-proggie. By accident i found it, started it and UFOAM worked again
