French gaming magazine PC4WAR reviewed UFO:Aftermath recently, and when I asked them about their conclusion and score, this is what they replied:

Yes, we did an excellent review of UFO Aftermath, we give it a 4,5 on 5 (and

the game is doing the cover of the mag). Our overall opinion is that the

game is deep, very intereresting, has good game mechanisms and provides long

hours of play. We believe it could have been a bit better but it is hard to

explain how. Let's say it is not perfect, maybe because it is still very

close to the original in its principles, but without real changes, which is

at the same time bad after ten years, but good for all the fans !

Thank you for the announcement, the magazine will be on sale from the 27th

Septembre, in France, and a few days later in Belgium and Swizterland.

Think this is the first time I've heard that it's too close to the "original" (UFO:Aftermath is not a sequel to the X-Com games), but it's a positive conclusion never the less...
