the new one is ver blocky and angular, think the influence of BMW is showing itself at landorver HQ. If they ever touch the defender and make it look as shit, I'm gonna invoke a revolution on the spot! :D

Anyway, AFAIK the disco' doesnt have a boot either, though its been a while since i last saw one up close. Ill keep an eye out, theres usually one or two parked around here in redneck country, ill peer in the back for you and try not to get arrsted! ;)

I know the boot space isn't huge, but it's big enough to hold a lot of kit. About four suitcases worth. It holds everything the blokes in the Rover need, plus some team gear too. It could be a 5-door Defender, quite frankly, as SAS Rovers are armoured, which may very well change the shape of the whole chassis depending upon the process.

Famous last words.

I keep trying to leave this, but it keeps dragging me back. Quite annoying, I want to put it on the back burner for a while, I have other stuff to write (totally unrelated to X-Com) never mind the other X-Com stories I have on the go. I suppose I should be grateful that The Grey Man was over quickly. But Agents...I always told myself I would quit before I started repeating myself, and although I may have already started doing that, I don't think I have, and there's plenty of distance still to cover. Quite a-ways to go, really. It's annoying, especially considering it was supposed to be 10k words and finito, but hey-ho.

I suppose part of it is being able to write my own story, although the extent to which I am in charge is debatable. The best stories and characters have a life of their own, and THEY dictate what happens when, and how. I wouldn't call this story anything more than competent (and that's pushing it) but if I'm making decisions as to what happens, it's an entirely subconscious process. Weird certainly, but not a problem for me. I know some writers plan everything, best of luck to 'em, but it's not how I work.

Here's to another hundred thousand words. :(

I know, I know, I'm dragging my feet.

A few things.

Cordite hasn't been used as a gunpowder for decades, I know, but it's a lot snappier than nitrocellulose. As for the Alamo...historic accounts confirm Crockett died bravely, that Travis was not despised by the men, and whether Bowie was a psychotic drunk is at most debatable. Whether the fight there influenced later events (principally giving Sam Houston time to gather men and materiel) again, is debatable.
