Backstory

The year is 2010 and the earth has fallen. The war for humanity has taken a tragic turn resulting in the oppression of humanity. In 2003 as the operations of x-com have begain to fight back the infiltration attemps of the aliens, the sign of alien defeat begain to shine through the darkness of what seemed like an inescapeable future. Everything that humanty fought for was lost when the alien forces launched an invasion force of millions aginst the nations of earth. X-Com being only a small tactical strike force could do nothing aginst the merciless hords of invaders. Within a month of the invasion all the forces of earth were neutralized. Most of the population of earth fell victum to the alien plan to cleanse the world of its filth. The earth begain a transfermation from a luch green world to a dark arid world. What small amount of humans that remain became servants of there alien masters. Many where left to try to survive in an increasingly alien world. The spirit of humanity has broken and all feeling of what made us man has faded away but there are a few who still hold on to this spirit and have taken up the cause for the freedom of humanity. Driven by the determaination of this spirit and the hatered of enemy, these few brave and dedicated men and women under the banner of X-COM will make it know that HUMANITY WILL NEVER BE BROKEN.

Plot

The story will focus on the actions of this underground x-com as they conduct missions aginst the agents of the brain and will finish the goal of destroying the brain and freeing humanity.

Goal of the story

I want to try to create a fun, exciting story while keeping a sence of reality about it. I plan on breaking typical sterotypes such as "unbeatable" heros, outragous plot twist, unrealistic actions, and the happy ending. (The world is under alien control so don't expect happyness)

Relationship to x-com

I understand that the traditional x-com timeline says that x-com won and everything but i find that a grim story is more intresting plus it puts a new twist on the story. Think of it as a tale based on one of those games you didn't win :)

(Note)

This is a idea ive been working on for a few weeks now and im really intrested. But i need some input on it so that i can better produce a story worth of your time and energy. Please don't hold back (if you say it horrable, it better to hear it now and not after i wrote the thing)
