Snikers
Hey, uh...seeing as how more than one person is going to be writing for these characters, shouldn't we fill them all out and make it public? Like post them in the character section or something?
FullAuto
Do we need characters to fill out squad 3? I can come up with a few if we need some, even if they're just cannon fodder for the terror mission.
Snikers
I just reread Ghost's profile (being his new de facto owner and all) and noticed a particular lack of any personality description...I'm gonna be a bit short on ideas for the first little while, wanna give me a couple of traits? FullAuto
He sounds like an Army lifer, in for the full 30. Not as good as he thinks he is, but a good soldier. Needs taking down a peg or two, probably by an older, more experienced soldier. He's young, so probably think's he's bulletproof, a bit of a hotshot. That enough? Snikers
Yeah, but isn't that kind of...I dunno, cliche?
FullAuto
Going on his profile, he is a cliche. Have him read poetry or something. *shrug* I thought he'd be easier for you to write if he was fairly simple. He can always mature and change later on when you get a grip on the character. Besides, cliches and stereotypes are always the most fun to write for.

FullAuto
These four are going to join squad 3, bringing it up to ten members.  Name: Alexander FitzwilliamsCallsign: FitzBackground: Five years in the Royal Marines. Made sergeant in record time. Likes shouting at people. His last job before leaving for X-Com was the training of new recruits.Personal Information: 25 years old, 5'10", black hair, brown eyes. Lean and fit, he is a little army barmy and trains a lot more than is strictly necessary. Hoped to join the SBS but enthusiasm is no substitute for intelligence. Knows tactics and strategy by rote. Has assumed the role of squad leader through sheer volume.Strength: AverageSpeed: GoodAccuracy: AverageMental condition: Enthusiastic.Psionic potential: Maybe as a training aid.Intelligence: Not a big brain, but capable of tying his own shoelaces.Bravery: His knowledge of tactics often quiets his need to charge the enemy, screaming wildly.Controller: Me, others welcome. Name: Abdul abu RahmanCallsign: PhilBackground: Jordanian-born, raised in Saudi Arabia, trained at Sandhurst and then joined the rest of his family in the USA, becoming a lieutenant in the US Army.Personal Information: 28 years old, 6', black hair, green eyes. Muscular and very fit, he doesn't have to train much to stay in shape, and prefers to spend his time studying history and literature. Considers himself to be very cultured, and with the hint of a British accent, it isn't difficult to believe. Likes to second-guess Fitz, but has no real ambition to be squad leader. Devout Muslim. Lives in Philadelphia.Strength: GoodSpeed: AverageAccuracy: AverageMental condition: A little touchy, but dependable. Always thinks he knows better.Psionic potential: LowIntelligence: High. Quite clever, but thinks he's even smarter.Bravery: High.Controller: Me, others welcome. Name: Isaac RubensteinCallsign: BrickBackground: Just joined the Navy SEALs before being volunteering for X-Com. Five years in the US navy before that. Raised a Orthodox Jew, he isn't quite so strict with himself now he's away from his parents.Personal Information: 27 years old, 5'7", stocky, blonde hair and blue eyes. Enjoyed his years of service very much, they gave him a sense of purpose his religion hasn't so far. Feels slightly nervous around Abdul, but wouldn't admit it if you put a gun to his head. Has been known to indulge in pork in moments of weakness. Fell out of a helicopter into the Pacific Ocean, and was winched back up with cries of "Like a brick" It stuck. He made the mistake of telling the story when he joined X-Com.Strength: AverageSpeed: GoodAccuracy: ExcellentMental condition: Stable as long as religion isn't mentioned.Psionic potential: Average.Intelligence: AverageBravery: Gets more reckless as the mission goes on.Controller: Me, others welcome. Name: Francis DiNapoliCallsign: FrankieBackground: A US Army Ranger, dedicated to service. He spent several years in law enforcement, but found the bureaucracy got on his nerves. Father of five, divorced.Personal Information: 34 years old, 5'6", black hair, blue eyes. Can't decide whether he's Italian-American or Irish-American, but either way he's a Catholic. Endless mickey-taking about his first name has scarred him for life, and any mention of it will render him completely silent. Has a great relationship with his children, but a touch-and-go one with their mother. Deeply in debt over a protracted custody battle. A constant joker, he hides what he feels from everyone.Strength: AverageSpeed: ExcellentAccuracy: GoodMental condition: Always being a smart-arse.Psionic potential: HighIntelligence: AverageBravery: AverageController: Moi, others welcome. Bomb Bloke
Thought I'd redo Howitz's profile. Thus I'll try out Pumpkinhead's form: AGE: 24HEIGHT: 180cm (6 foot)WEIGHT: 59kgCOLOR OF-..............Hair: Dark brown. Short...............Eyes: Brown..............Complexion: Fair skinPOSTURE (WALK): Tends to walk fast. Sometimes even starts running, if not thinking and the terrain is flat.APPEARANCE-..............Physical distinctions: Short and skinny, but looks built to scale of a larger soldier...............Dress distinctions: Likes many pockets. Tends to carry a grenade or two on him, but no sidearms.MAIN CHARACTER TRAIT: Speaks when spoken to. Doesn't like making decisions, good at following orders.SECONDARY CHARACTER TRAIT: If there are no orders, or he really doesn't like them, he'll take over - IF it looks like no one else more capable is around.AMBITION-..............Desires: Lots of explosives? ..............Goals: Improved pyshical form (even though he is built in such a way that he won't improve).OCCUPATION: Demolition expert.NATIONALITY: NZSOCIAL CLASS-..............In childhood: Middleclass...............At present: Elite X-Com ass kicker (and medic)! IQ: 146EDUCATION: College level, additional computer studies.HOME LIFE-..............When growing up: Didn't get on with anyone when younger, learned to adapt...............Present attitudes toward above and toward a loved one: Generic. Would probably be disapointed to hear the aliens blew them up.AMUSEMENTS, HOBBIES, PLEASURES: Running, throwing grenades, programming.FAULTS: Doesn't always pay attention when he should. Not very strong at all, nor is he good at aiming a gun. Sometimes he thinks before acting, and in his line of work, that isn't always the best way to act.RELIGION: Chrisitian.MORALS: Strong. Tolerates 'faults' in others, so he doesn't come off as a hard-ass.SEXUAL DRIVE: None. He's a potato. FRUSTRATIONS, IRRITATIONS: Doesn't like bullies, and tends to try and turn the tables on them if he spots one - regardless of who the person is trying to abuse. Himself, people don't annoy him unless he feels they are actively trying to, as he normally just tunes them out. Doesn't like the idea of psi, and would probably be quite aggresive against anything (or anyone) that tried it on him.INNER CONFLICTING FRUSTRATIONS: Doesn't like being a soldier and a christian at the same time. In X-com, he doesn't have to kill humans, but he still prefers leveling buildings to aliens.TEMPERAMENT: Apathic. SUPERSTITIONS: Believes in some spirits and the like, but doesn't like the idea of them. Definitely not a Yoga "open your mind" kind of person. IMAGINATION: Creative, but usually keeps his thoughts to himself.UNUSUAL AND/OR HABITUAL GESTURES: Talks with his hands and expression a lot.CHARACTERISTIC MANNER OF SPEAKING: Talks steadily, sometimes it sounds like he's reading off a script. Often thinks before he speaks, so this may well be the case.VOICE (sound): Refined, youthful. Tends to snarl when angry.FIRST IMPRESSION ON OTHERS: Background type of guy.POLITICAL AFFILIATIONS: Is aware of political terms, but doesn't think it worth the effort to find the meanings.CHARACTER GROWTH: Howitz won't be a rifleman, ever. It is possible he could take a leadership role, but if he does, he won't like it. He won't throw the role away, however, as the thought simply wouldn't occur to him. Concerning psi, I would consider him fairly powerful on the offence as well as the defence; but he doesn't like psi, so unless he understands exactly what the psi-amp does, he won't touch it. OTHER:Howitz served five years in the New Zealand defensive force, training with grenades and other explosives. Most of his missions thus far have been training excercises, however, he is well used to working under fire. Howitz is not a strong type. His aim is acceptable if given a scope and time to aim, but not good enough to snipe. Recoil kicks him right off so he's not much good in a fire fight, either. He makes up for this with an incredible stamina. If he can do something, he can keep on doing it for a while. For example, most people can pick up a person and run with them over their shoulder, but they tend to collapse after a couple of steps. Howitz keeps going. The catch is he wouldn't be able to walk for the next few minutes straight afterwards, but he probably wouldn't notice anyway. Speed is his other forte, even with a full load he can keep up with most unburdened soldiers. Without a pack, he flys. He often likes to train with heavy weights, as opposed to light ones. Generally he works out until his arms don't seem to work anymore. He doesn't seem to feel exhaustion; he just waits until he can move, then continues until his training time is over.  He doesn't mind anyone who doesn't actively provoke him, and hardly notices what others might view as offensive behaivour. The one reason Howitz is in X-Com is because of his throwing arm and timing. He doesn't just throw a grenade where it should go, he makes sure it detonates the second it gets there. The is mostly sub-concious, so stress does not affect that. However, don't expect explosives to be flying left right and center, he makes sure the target is not near other troops and the like first. I've given him medical training, but that is relatively new in his history, so he has little experiance of on field work. When it comes to psionics, Howitz should get highly aggravated when he thinks it's going on, even if he can't feel most attacks. Then he slips out of medic mode and into 'blow stuff up' mode, even if he does still make sure his charges don't damage any friendlies (including mind controlled soldiers). Zager
Name: Rocio LeeCallsign: DragonAge: 26Description: Rocio is a Chinese woman who stands at six foot two inches. She has black hair, and brown eyes. Or, rather, a brown eye. Her left eye is missing, covered by an eyepatch. There's a tattoo of a green dragon surrounding her missing eye. The tattoo and the patch are both recent developments. Personality: Flippant, and irreverent, Rocio Lee is the exact opposite of what one would expect of a communist special ops agent. She respects the chain of command, though, but she rarely respects individuals in it. Despite this, anybody skilled at noticing these things will see that she carries herself with hard edge, a person unafraid of killing. Her loyalty to China is a rather complicated affair. She's loyal, but she holds none of the beliefs that her superiors do concerning China. Background:Rocio Lee's past is mostly classifed, but really is nothing exciting. She was a peasant in China, through a series of events, she eventually wound up working for China's intelligence agencies, where she later receieved special ops training. She's one of China's finest, actually, she'd easily be among the higher ranking members of her agency if she wasn't insubordinate and disrespectful. It would earn most people a quick discharge, her attitude, but she's proven herself to be too valuable, so she's just kept in the field. Lee has never actually engaged in any anti-western activities in her career, and has, in fact, worked with western agencies on numerous ocasions to eliminate global threats and terrorist organizations, making her a perfect choice for transfer to X-COM.  Some of her more notable operations included preventing the assassination of several global leaders at a UN meeting, and recovering two stolen Chinese nuclear bombs that were being sold on the black market in the middle east. She's a crack shot with most small arms, and highly skilled with the knife in close combat. She's not inconcspicious, so she prefers a more direct, less subtle approach towards dealing with situations as opposed to stealth and disguise. She prefers to work in squads, as opposed to being a loner. She's an atheist, and does not believe in any sort of supernatural activity. She doesn't believe in aliens either, though that opinions likely to change very rapidly.
