Let's not beat around the bush anymore...

Okay here's how it goes. This weekend will be the last time that I feel I might have some will left to keep the XCAS sim going on its official storyline. So I will say this in the simplest fashion I can. Show up.

I'm not forcing anyone mind you, but the amount of people that show up will determine wether or not we will pursue the XCAS storyline I have layed out. If there is a lack of certain individuals or not enough people arrive at the sim I stop showing up. If I don't get some responses and activity in the forum in the next 2 weeks or so I call the storyline off also. This is simple. Whatever will happen will determine wether people are up for proceeding with this sim or if it has really sunk into its final dying moments.

So this is it. If I feel there is enough interest by the end of this week then we proceed, otherwise it's pointless and people can only show up like they have the last few weeks in spite of my efforts. Your activity will decide and whilst I am wholeheartedly hoping there will be some I am already preparing to move on from here to other places, the accessibility of which has been confirmed by yesterday's sim.

BioHazard has already posted he won't be there and I applaud that he remembered to post on the Absence Board. Follow his example as I will take THAT into account to.

This weekend determines the future of XCAS and its life or death. You decide upon it since realisticly speaking I can't force you into a course of action. So...it's all up to you guys. Do or die. :dontgetit:

Yikes... i know how you feel though.

I myself havent shown up in... like a month. Maybe i should give this story of yours a chance; my main reason for stoppign was that the sim was losing interest, to say the least.

Im in, unless my mom and dad spring something on me (actually, i might go somewhere on easter sunday, but i dont think so. I'll keep you in touch if i do go somewhere)

IonMage, I can't reitterate this on and on but I might as well do it so that people have an objective look on things.

I have updated the site completely, providing regular briefings, loading it with new techs and pictures, taken in suggestions from the past on possible new tech advances including your Autocannon Explosive Round thing. I have written up numerous UFOpaedia entries along with other people and both me and Ghost have been thinking up of sims alongside the fact that I set the stage for the next Saga in the XCAS storyline AND having shown up every Sunday in fact since I have joined XCAS, except on one occasion. I also have the things in Alpha Squad to take care of, drawing and refining the plans considering new arrivals and people that left the Squad, the part at which I told you that a Sergeant's job wouldn't be exactly a walk in the park.

Now I have done all of these things, but if anyone wants more with XCAS then, heh, I'm sorry to say but you'll have to wait until Mouse finishes the new XCAS site (whenever THAT happens).

So decide. There are tonnes of information and material on the site for you to get briefed about so don't give me that there is nothing to read or to immerse yourself into. The site has plenty of new info, including the new tactics in Alpha Squad which, if I guess correctly, only one or maybe two in the entire squad have taken a look at.

The info is all there and all you need to do is immerse yourself into it and the XCAS universe for this new Saga. There is plenty of material, but I'm not sure if there is enough interest and that is why I await this weekend to find out if (hopefully) people want to continue the XCAS storyline or if Mouses "no-sim" periods have already done irrepairable damage. :dontgetit:

Yes, i applaud you loonie (We need an applaud smily now...)

Excelent work, i guess i have been a little ignorant about this whole situation; youve been putting your all into this.

I will be there most certainly, unless my parents say otherwise (they better damn well not)

If they say no I can advise the following:

1) Knives are pointy

2) Some wild animals are venomous

3) You may be able to go without paying bills for months

4) Accidents in the home are common, make sure to tell the police this often if they ask you about anything.

Now I'm off to go and play catch with my brother. What he doesn't know is the ball is a live grenade and I'm wrapping a rattlesnake around it to make sure...

To DH: Nope, Kappa will not fold, if things really go down the drain we will continue the way we've been going so far.

To Loonie: I know all the things you've been doing and I support you fully, I am very sorry that I myself have not been able to do as much as you have, but I do my best. You are the one that knows where Mouse wants to go with the storyline, without you and Mouse+Brain, I think the sim as we know it will cease to exist. I know there are many others in the sim. The forums however have been very dead lately. It used to be that there were, 2-3, maybe 4 roleplay posts a week, but even that died down. I really would like to see some more activity too, because I do want to show activity, but if nobody else does, then that doesn't really give me much motivation to do something

I know Ghost. And as far as the storyline is considered I do know that Mouse has supported the Saga that I have started, but I deliberately didn't ask for more so that:

a) If he and Brain decide to reactivate themselves then I can step back and enjoy their storyline (by not knowing on how it will proceed  )

B) So as to keep things open. The setting that I gave leaves plenty of open ends so that we can almost litteraly pull the storyline in any direction we want. But I want to implement one more thing. That our simming and success on missions impacts the storyline. THAT would be great, but as I said we'll see if there is enough interest. Hopefully there will be...

Since last night's sim was kind of deadlocked in my decision (even though 3 people left during the sim too) I've decided to be veeeeery generous considering everything that has happened.

Sim goes on official storyline. But at the first time that less than 6 people show up on a Sunday the official storyline gets shelved. Also if 6 people show up and 2 or more quit in the middle of the sim the storyline gets shelved also. Simple as that. I've got to start questioning myself wether or not the energy I'm putting into this sim is being put to good use or not. So I hope it is.

The main reason we're simming in the first place is to have fun, so just relax man. Too bad you guys already found out about Kappa as I had a conspiracy storyline in the works, oh well!

P.S. I'll be coming back to sims when my semester ends this month. I couldn't join earlier as the sims start at 3 AM on Monday in my time zone and I'll have to get up and moving at 6 to get ready to go to college. I still remember the last time when I was brushing my teeth with one hand and typing with the other, not to mention sleeping through my classes after that. :)

Sounds like fun Saber

As for you Kacur: Like DH said: Nobody is asking you to dedicate your life to the sim indeed, also you don't have to do everything. I'm still here too (*waves* Yoohoo! :)) and willing to help if I know what I can do.

Another thing: You talk about attendance rates. Getting 6 or 7 people for XCAS is a *good* turnout, considering the people that are in XCAS. This sim simply doesn't have the manpower to get 10+ people in-sim each time. It's not you, it's not me, it's not any of the simmer's fault, it's just that we don't have enough simmers. Now I know there are more people on the roster, but the experience tells me that 6-7, maybe 8 is a more than excellent turnout for us. It may have been a little higher at the start of the sim, but I don't think it ever did really go past 10 regularly even there.

I'm not asking for 8-10 people attendance regularly. But I AM asking for 6+ attendance regularly. If we do not then it really won't work. As far as help is considered I have layed down some stuff for Pickers to do some 3 weeks ago and they're still not done. I will soon post some new techs that need to be done and I'll see for myself just how much help I can count on dealing with the sim. I don't want to do it all myself, but somehow I get the feeling I have to if it is to stay alive. I might be wrong so....

  • 2 weeks later...

Actually Alpha has 7 members with 6 being active. Asides from that there's also 3 other people who are active and coming to the sims (though Ghost is having problems lately and you also have some work to do.)

Taking into account that 2 people can't make it at one time or another I'd say that 6 people is not an overestimation. Any more than that would perhaps be, but still...
