DevBael
Heres the deal, I downloaded the warez version of apocalypse (sue me, but i'm not paying $40 to e-bay for a game that is half a decade old) and it simply won't accept my save games. The moment I give it a name and press enter it seems to be saving but then the save line goes blank and theres nothing there. I think it has something to do with the lack of a save game directory. Probably a light warez mistake. So can anyone tell me what the exact name/structure of their save game directory is so I can try and create it myself hopefully fixing the problem. DevBael
Oh please, am I seeing game company loyalty? You can't tell me game companies haven't been screwing us over for years now. When is the last good game you have actually played. Don't know about you but Apocalypse was the last game I could actually play over and over again once I beat it. All the others I played for two damn days, less in some cases, and then I couldn't even look at them again. And some of these games cost over $50 and thats not counting the hundreds I spent upgrading my computer since you need video cards that have their own fans to play some of these things. As for loyalty to Xcom and the series? You know very well mythos is history and the company who owns xcom isn't showing the slightest interest in making a new game (atleast one thats any good, what a slap in the face interceptor and enforcer was, you telling me the gaming industry didn't crap all over the xcom name when it released that garbage?). Hell they don't even provide support anymore. I used to have an actual cd of the game but it wouldn't run on my old computer (win 2000 error I believe) and after weeks of e-mails I got absolutely nothing for help from infogames or whatever their called. And I should feel bad about not giving them money? I'll stop now since I can rant all day about how people see piracy and just say thanks for the tip. I'm off to look in the old forums for a solution.
Alan
ok... 1) watch it. we'll have no nasty talk/flaming here.2) i'm right with you on the piracy in some cases... but this is x-com. x-com is worth shelling out for, and its dead cheap. (note: this website does not endorse piracy)3) do you even know who owns x-com now? Firaxis. (not the pile of **** known as infogrammes)4) and you actually had an origional cd? why didn't you say so! try here: the actual post in the old forums
