Space Voyager
I'd expect our Portuguese members to start a thread on this, but anyway; CONGRATULATIONS for taking the European cup!!! It was all the rage around Europe and even though I'm not a football fan, I could not have missed the news. JdasonAmile and etincuche
silencer_pl
Too lucky! Very poor performance. The big winner of EURO was Iceland.
Thorondor
Plenty of fuss over it, no doubt, SV, yet others seem to collect such cups in armfuls almost. :: Just getting one in decades has proven challenging enough, so, yay!
Zombie
I watched the game, and gotta say France should've won. The whole Ronaldo fiasco (getting hurt "multiple times", then coming back on the field, then ripping off his captains band and throwing that on the ground before collapsing in a heap and crying with moths landing on his face), was more entertaining than the game itself. Hehe. - Zombie
Space Voyager
Well, he did get hit into the knee quite nicely. Twice. I do admit that France played better IMO, but obviously not better enough.
Thorondor
Spectacle, pain, the deafening roar of the crowd. To quote Maximus Decimus Meridius: "Are you not entertained?" :: In the end, who scores wins and to the victors go the spoils. BabaYaga
Muito Obrigado dual citizen Portugal/US And to anyone doubting Portugal deserved the win, really just totally disrespectful and childish. For such a tiny country, for losing our star player (Ronaldo) and for a fairly unknown sub (Eder) to score the winning goal, we absolutely deserved and played hard for the win. I admit that initially in the competition our performance was pretty ugly, but we absolutely deserved the victory. In fact, I think if Ronaldo HADNT been injured, we would have lost. The team was forced to approach the game very differently without him as captain, which created a truly original approach. Something that the French didn't expect and weren't prepared for. Hehe. - Zombie Portugal loses their star player and captain, but France (should have won) *Rolls Eyes* ive lost all faith in humanity. At what point does a tiny country like Portugal get recognition for their athletics? This is Portugals first Eurocup win, i'd say all things considered they did an unbelievable job.
