Tsathoggua
Can Xcomutil be safely used twice, to change a single setting, after already having used it to start a new game, without starting another? Meant to tweak the sonic pistol to add autofire, and obviously must have accidentally input the wrong command, because on gaining the pistol research, no autofire. NKF
It's perfectly fine to re-run the installation program to change settings around. Bladefirelight made it to be customiseable that way. Changes that affect the battlescape like modifying the weapon abilities should take effect immediately if you reload a battlescape save. Other changes such as changes to ship or map layouts won't alter a current battlescape save and the changes will take effect the next time the game generates a new map with said ship or map part. - NKF
Tsathoggua
Thanks. Meant to make that change the first time round, although for some reason it didn't. Its about time the aliens gained at least SOME autofire capability. And the ship mission currently being fought is to say the least, getting a bit hairy. Tasoth, bio-drones, and as you can imagine, theres not very many ways bar grenades, or having a soldier open a door and run, before someone else pops an incendiary down the corridor, or at a pinch, HE rounds from a GC, when theres something close up and drooling bug slime in your face ready to rip your head off come the next turn, or if you so much as twitch. And your best weapons are GC, sonic pistols, sonic pulsers and a few of those big, heavy demo charges. Sons of bitches are cheating, too. Just had to reload the game because one armed with a stun launcher fired a round, dropped a couple of soldiers KO, and then fired a second shot , which sounded like a disruptor pulse projectile being fired, went on a (short) straight point to point trajectory then went off like a friggin' nuke, ripping through several layers of walls, and blasting a huge hole, absolutely devastating the surrounding area. Everyone in the surrounding area, dead, and the 3-4 soldiers closing in on the attack were completely vaporized, bodies simply evaporated, and not much, if any equipment left. If its the aliens' turn and they hit and kill someone with an explosive round and they happen to be carrying a magna blast pack primed for impact, does it then gonbbbv bb ,././.././...../.././/////////right away, on the enemy turn, or does it wait until the start of X-com's next turn. Not sure how that blast-amplification trick works Damnable creature probably shouldn't even have been able to fire two shots from a thermal shock cannon,,
