3371-Alpha
Is it true you should disable XMS, EMS & UMB if using a dos extender such as dos4gw? Also is it true that the dynamic core in DOSBox is only available on x86 host machines? I've already googled said questions and it didn't really get me anywhere. NKF
Is it true you should disable XMS, EMS & UMB if using a dos extender such as dos4gw? No. Many old dos games like UFO and TFTD use Dos4gw as their memory extender and they run perfectly fine without having to disable the different memory types. I'd probably only disable them if the game you're trying to run is complaining. I recall one of the Ultima games refused to work with a memory extender like emm386 way back when I used to play it natively in DOS, so I had to have a separate boot disk to load just the bare bones to play the game. However, the game runs fine in Dosbox at present time. As for you other question, it might pay to check out the Dosbox official site and ask the Devs directly on the Dosbox forum. - NKF
3371-Alpha
One other question. Does dos32a work on the first 3 x-coms? It's suppose to be an open source replacement for dos4gw.
