banzay
So there's this game I want to replay, but forgot the name of it. All I remember is that it's like a strategy war game and around everything you can move there's octagons and you can only move within those octagons and then wait for your opponent to make a move. Sort of like chess. Anyone know the game?
Matri
... You're going to have to be a bit more specific than that.
banzay
how many games have those octagons thingy system?
Space Voyager
Are you sure those were octagons? You can't combine octagons to cover a region without holes (if you were talking about a map at all). Perhaps hexagons?
banzay
Yeah, now that I think about it they were hexagons Does that help with anything though? lol Those hexagons (or whatever) also indicated the range you can fire, so they had to cover the oponent's territory to reach something you wanted to shoot at That's all I have really

Space Voyager
Suddenly a miriade of games come into play... Like Panzer General as the most prominent. Can you remember anything else, like the setting? WW1, WW2, fantasy, was the hex map used in strategic map or in the tactical battle etc?
banzay
Nah, it ain't Panzer General The setting was somewhat modern, I remember you could use mortars and ships, maybe planes too. And I think it was fantasy. Another thing I remember is that the view was not straight down but at an angle... and I think one of the maps had snow or ice... Also, I don't know how old the game is, but I played this somewhere around 2006-2007
