Alien Gas in week 4?

I have toxiguns and gas A and I am just starting week 4... I know you are supposed to have found every alien, but I haven't captured anything past skeletoids... I am playing a cracked version so I can run it under XP, so maybe this has something to do with it. Anyone know if this is a fluke?

Peculiar indeed! One of the main prerequisites of the gas would have to be Toxin-C and the Queenspawn (and I think the Ultimate Threat, or something along the same lines, which you can get from the micronoid aggregates).

 

If you have neither, you shouldn't be able to research it. Though, the game is prone to getting the odd corruption or so now and again. I wouldn't be too surprised.

 

On the other hand, if you raid an enemy building and find random equipment lying about, you will often find empty mini and heavy launchers. If you pick up these launchers and have a look at their stats, you'll find that they'll default to Alien Gas ammo (with 0 rounds). (Also, the minilauncher has an anti-alien gas rocket as part of its sprite, but that's merely a cosmetic issue).

 

 

If you still have that game, can you list all the completed projects in your bio-lab?

anyway, most mysterious, as alien gass does require toxin C and the queen spawn.

how did you get it? did it show up as a research topic? or did you just load up a save one time and have it just appear?

Anyway it's better then not being able to research something. For one I'm not able to research an alien object in my stock :)

hrm... perhaps i should have moved this to the support section.

meh, it doesn't matter that much.

 

anyway, Pruimpje, perhaps you need to have researched something else before it; f'rinstnace before the shield technologies i think you need to research some of the disruptors. something like that anyway.

 

failing all else you *could* use one of the editors to start the research.

it doesn't matter that much. you only get it at the end of the game, and by that time, you should have toxi-c and that is more that enough. just station two of three agents on each pad after your main task force eliminates any aliens around. after some amount of time, aliens will stop coming. but normally by that time, you will have finnished the mission. i just like to get as many kills as possible and finnish the mission rather than run. and something sorta irrelivent, the AI for controlling your aircraft is dumb. if i could manually control each anihilator effectivly, i would. they don't fly at top speed, EVER, and they shoot each other.
