Doctoxic
This is the first time this has happened in about 90 missions. I have downed a Mothership and seemingly killed all the aleins but the mission down't end. Anyone else had this or got any suggestions? thanks Doc
NKF
Seen this happen plenty of times. Often the alien gets stuck in a small corner (or a hole), or it's a skeletoid running about on the roof. Using relative motion to pick up stationary aliens on the motion scanners (i.e. running with the scanner and watching the dots) is a bit of a problem in UFO recovery sites, what with the masses of corpses lying about getting picked up by the radar. Or you could try waiting in one spot and watch the scanner for movement. Also, use audio clues. Aliens like the worms make loud hissing noises. If you hear something, there's probably an alien within your current vicinity. If not on your current level, then it's on one of the others. Arm a disrupter gun or a power sword and start a methodical sweep of the interior of the UFO. It's often in some small nook or cranny, like the tight spaces in the engine rooms or rocket belts. Cut open some walls if you have to. Destroy anything that might obstruct your view (like those pesky engines - keep away when they blow up though. Don't worry, these are just scenery. You'll still get an engine when the mission is over). Also look at the floors, as sometimes there are ditches that the aliens may have fallen into. Place some guards along the way, as the alien can move about and run past you down forking corridors. If you just cannot find the alien inside the ship, guard the doors and start searching outside. Again, watch for ditches, and have a few soldiers examine the top of the saucer. Really though, all this boils down to the same thing we did in UFO and TFTD. A long, boring, and methodical search for the last alien. Only this time we get the choice of experiencing it in real-time. - NKF
Doctoxic
thanks for that - i did another sweep and eventually found a skelatoid - he was in a place that was invisible unless you just happened to stand in a specific place - even though the room itself looked clear thanks again Doc
Ki-tat Chung
yeah, i had a mission where i spent several hours doing the motion scanner thing. after that mission, i relised where the last skeletoid always hides: in that engine room, in a "corner", facing the wall. it doesnt do a thing.
