NKF
I can't say I've personally seen this happen before, but I thought it was only multiworms that deteriorated over time? You might have destroyed the popper when deciding which specimens to keep and which ones to destroy when the containment is overcrowded. In any case, if you want to be absolutely sure that you'll be able to research a certain alien, but don't want to complete research on it immediately (say you're busy researching something more important, like the large bio lab, for example, but don't want to lose that popper of yours), start its research by assigning one scientist to it. Get it about 1% done or so then reassign your scientist to your main research project. That way, the research project will always be there for you, and you can just set it aside for later. The same works for the quantum labs too - in case you decide to spring clean and accidentally send off all samples of a certain artefact to another base. - NKF
