The Demi-Godly One
No, it (Unfortunately) doesn't exist.
NKF
No, there's no such thing as a Windows port of X-Com Apocalypse (yet - we can always hope). The copy of Apocalypse in the collectors edition is identical to the old dos version that was released prior to the CE. - NKF
Ki-tat Chung
the dos apoc is compat with the earlyer versions of win anyways

Ki-tat Chung
im afraid you're mistaken. CE ver of UFO and TFTD are re-written in windows, so yes, [/i]they[/i] are windows execubables. but apoc is full-blooded ms-dos. like i said before, apoc runs fine on most(?) machines running win9x. your machine might just be so fast you can't see the starting bit where it say the stuff about...um...you know.,..that [/i]thing[/i]...for accessing the devices directly...something about dos and 2 if i remember correctly... knight_of_the_ravens
there is no way that i'm mistaken....because of my low buffer count..the game does'nt start up too fast....and second of all....i would definatly be able to tell if it's going through the dos program to load....all i do now to start it is pop in the disk and go from auto play or start menu....and it loads a sec and goes straight to the intro.....a dos screen will show up on anything that i play that requires booting through the dos program...my apocolypse does not do it....full windows baby!!! IS THAT YOU JOHN WAYNE?!?!? IS THIS ME?!?!?
NKF
The fact that the window that's displaying Apocalypse is also the same MSDos console window that the message for the Dos4gw DPMI manager is displayed in, and because your computer loads the game so quickly would explain everything. You'd barely even see the message as the thing zips by. If you run it from the command prompt console, the game clears the text buffer when you exit the game as if you've run the CLS (clear screen) command, so you probably won't see the dos4gw message if you run the game directly from the console and exit. If you're using a slower machine, like a 133mhz for example, the Dos4gw message is visible for a few seconds before starting the game. One solution would be to open your xcomapoc.exe file (or whatever it's called in your installation) and search for the word 'dos4g' (no w) and see if you can find it. - NKF

Ki-tat Chung
ah yeah, thats it! dos4gw! anyways, if you really want, you can check the properties for the APOC shortcut. the options should be those for an ms-dos file. not sure as i don't use XP.
