Yeah, you'll find plenty of M4000 and Autocannon clips carried by most guards in any organisation. You'll even find some weapons that you can only buy after the end of week 1 or week 2, like the mini launchers and the Megapol plasma gun. Some organisations have specialty items.

Early on in the game, you may want to bring some stun grapples along when conducting a raid. They don't waste any ammunition (but you still get firing experience) and they can quickly knock your enemies out so you can pick up their weapons.

I'm not talking about stun raids (although that is an option), I mean in an actual raid on a hostile enemy. Enemy guards will not have any disrupter shields yet, so the stun grapples can save you a lot of bullets. Waiting a tile or two away on either side of those double doors in the Sirius temples tends to make a good choke point for any cultists that charge through. The tunnels underneath the altar room (with the two grav-lifts behind it)also make good ambush locations if you wait just around a bend.

Or you could try conserving your ammo. Don't go using auto-fire with M4000s when the enemy is twenty-thirty tiles away. Rush around a corner and wait for the enemy to chase after you so you can get into close proximity and make full use of the auto-fire mode, or rush towards your enemy, but use the terrain as cover and run between cover until you are close enough to attack the enemy at close range (the vehicle factories are nice for this, with all those autotaxies and support beams all arround you). Or if you think your armour can handle it, just have a whole squad run right up to the enemy (a lot of soldiers will make more targets for the alien to shoot at). I generally use these tactics with the power swords, but it works brilliantly for autocannons, M4000s, Lawpistols, etc too.

Well, if you do buy everything on the market and end up running out, you won't be able to buy anymore until the start of next week, when market supplies are replenished.

First time I played Apocalypse, I kept running out of ammo pretty quickly since I kept trying to use my guns at maximum range on full auto. I know, it was unwise to do so, but hey, those spitters scared the heck out of me the first time I played. :power:

But even if you run out of ammo, there are plenty of alternate weapons you can use temporarily. I usually don't even touch the laser sniper rifles, so I've always got plenty of those left over just in case.

yeah, after playing the game for a week (game time) the markets filled themselves back up again, and i managed to "negotiate" with the Cult of Sirius for their ammo and other usefull toys, now i have those big Purple spaceships and the other big one coming, they should keep me busy for a while. Last time i sent a whole squad to take out a bunch of Cultists i was wasted by heavy launchers.

Toying with the cult is fun! Later in the game when you've got a little extra cash, buy up 4 mini launchers and all the inc ammo in the market for them. Suit up a couple androids with megapol/xcom armor but a marsec chest armor. Send them around the cult a few times for some fun.

I once did so much damage by fire that I had set them back at least 100k just by setting nearly the entire building ablaze. Remember, a burning cultist is usually panicking and tend to shoot at you less. Oh, and I had every possible slot on the droids with ammo and got through about half on each I believe with full auto. It's also fun to add a third android with he. =)

Also, once you've got shields, stick a pair on each droid and run around. Be sure to keep them together cuz flying androids on full auto suck for aim.

You need not worry about the androids' poor accuracy when using the launcher weapons. The rockets are all homing rockets, and you can even hit moving targets with just 1 accuracy.

You want to mix in a few soldiers with full suits of disrupter armour, as full suits make you impervious to dimension missiles, and the cultists are known for their love of rocket launchers. Sort of a last ditch defense once your shields run out. Just watch your armour durability though, since that goes down. You'll also want to watch out for direct hits by vortex mines, entropy missiles (no cultist will have these) and disrupter beams, but otherwise, you're pretty well off.
