DragonHawk
Ok, I've got this burning question here. Other than the engine and the weight, what determines a flyer's speed? The reason I ask is that I have two Hawk Air Warriors (or whatever they are called) with the exact same weapons loadout (medium disruptor, Lineage Plas, and Rendor Plas) and the same weight, but for some reason they fly at different speeds. I actually found this out when I was playing around with new engines. The Hawk with the upgraded engine flys slower than the one without, oddly enough. Does the age of the ship come into play? The older ship is slower hands down, which is the only feasible reason I could see for this, but still, it's very slow... or my other Hawk is very fast. But yeah, this is annoying. Any ideas? The Demi-Godly One
If a ship has free space (Like if it had a weapon slot which was 3x1 and you put in a weapon that was 2x1) it gets a bonus to speed. I think.
Alan
i don't think age would be a factor.... so, thesetwo hawks are outfitted identically? (same equipment, engines, weapons).and are carrying the same number of people?identical, but for name? i can't see why they would... damage maybe? NKF
I notice that aircraft that are at full health do not fly at the speed they claim to move at (when piloted by the AI -- they're fair game when manually piloted). However, once they're badly damaged, watch them go! Noticed this with the Explorers. They're faster than the Retaliators, but when I had them flying together, they were moving at almost matching speeds. But once an Explorer got badly damaged, it left the Retaliator and the other Explorers miles behind. There are probably other factors. How about their disposition and elevation modifiers? Any difference? - NKF
