Brute
How can we improve speed and strength?-i noticed there is no way to improve them. Only by combat training...-
NKF
Most of your physical stats get improved the fastest through combat experience (i.e. kills). However, I forget if the strength stat in particular can be improved this way, or whether it can only be improved via physical training. I seem to recall having a hybrid who'd neglected physical training--in order to get extreme psionic skills--never improving in strength for quite a long time until he was switched over to physical training. If you want to increase your overall speed of your agents in combat:- Carry less heavy items and reduce your encumberance level (more strength helps). In fact, the lightest possible combination while still being fairly formidable would be an armourless agent with a few PD shields and one self-charging weapon like the disrupters, stun-grapple, power sword or even a mind-bender. For added protection, carry a third shield or a cloaking device. Okay, so it's not practical, but it works. At least with soldiers that light they'd be able to zip about the map like mad. - NKF
Brute
Let me explain this to you thenThe only stats improved by combat experience are ;health --->get hitaccuracy --->shootreactions --->react and shootstamina --->try to run with 0 stamina left i have never seen strength, speed and psi attack improvement in combat. The only way to improve those is the training. Humans don't improve better in combats stats than the hybrids.Hybrids improve in combat stats as well as humans.-both experience/training- The hybrids only lack in starting combat attributes -low stength, speed- Androids DO NOT improve. Their purpose is to protect your rookie humans in the first week/month. Humans do NOT improve as well as humans. in combat training, lower starting attributes means you'll improve faster. But in psi-training, higher psi attributes means you'll improve faster. So the best soldiers in this game are hybrids i always look to hire hybrids with+40 reaction+70 speed+40 psi energy+40 psi attackand i never use them before i research the disruptor shields, as a loss of a skilled hybrid is not affordablein my last hard difficulty game my bes soldier -it was a 6 soldier hybrid team- was 100 health 96 accuracy 71 reactions 84 speed 92 stamina 68 strength 88 psi energy 74 psi attack 99 psi defence She could cleanse a mothership herself... :inlove:

NKF
Hmm? Actually, I'm familiar with that. But I've seen health and stamina improve just through kills alone. An unencumbered soldier who doesn't get hit at all will definitely improve in all those areas. It's just strength I'm questioning. Haven't played the game for a bit, see. While hybrids are by far the most improveable units in the game, if you do not rely heavily on psionics, essentially they are practically humans that start with poorer physical stats. Personally, I usually hire about four primary hybrids very early on and give them light but powerful weapons like plasma guns to keep them light. A lighter suit of armour also helps. I put two in physical training to quickly bring them up to par with their human cousins and the other two in psi-training and alternate their positions a little later in the game. Any other hybrids are just extras. The androids are not just for protecting your rookies. Aliens with psionics and brainsuckers do not actively target androids. This makes them practically immune to mind attacks (and only rarely will they ever get brainsucked by accident), thus are invaluable against psimorphs and micronoids. They are very reliable apart from their inability to improve. However, I have had androids with 1% improvements, and some people have android improvements that go up to 2 or 3 percent. What exactly it's improving in I can't begin to even imagine. Just a glitch I suppose. - NKF edit: Actually, there is a bug in the game that you can abuse to improve your psi-defense. Find and steal a mind-shield from a Marsec warehouse. Now whenever you bring it into combat, leave it on when you win the mission, or have your soldier turn it on then escape out the exit pads. This will give you a permanent boost to your psi defense, and it is cumulative. Rather useless in the long run as even with phenomenal stats, you can still get panicked. Brute
To be honest, i never saw an item as a mind shield. Then my useless humans can do something in alien missions. i would never abuse it, but i would go hostile to marsec to find 4 of them.
Brute
which marsec buiding do i have to raid to get a mind shield? flyer factory?
NKF
Hmm, I think one place you could find them is the Marsec arms depot. You know, those squat yellow buildings that only Marsec and Megapol have. There could be other Marsec facilities with it, but none come to mind at the moment. Personally, having played the game for quite some time, I find encounters with psionic capable aliens few and far between -- and a good mix of humans, hybrids and androids tend to compliment everyone else's downfalls very nicely for most scenarios. - NKF
Ki-tat Chung
teleporters! they'll save your hybrids from having to run from one side of the map to another! anyway, i just checked out a guide that told me that psi skills can only triple. is that true? i also read that in training for 4 hours, there is a chance that you will get one point for standard skills and the chances are 100 - skill points. that means a skilled veteran will have less improvement that a rookie.
