  1. Terra finished cleaning away most of the blood from the stump. "Nope," she answered plainly. "And I'm not exactly thrilled about the idea." She took a step back from the table and Yorke, giving him all the room he'll need. "If anything," She added. "It's probably best that I just stay back and observe."
  2. Terra grimaced at the mentioned of her leg instead of Xiggores', but she quickly shrugged it away quickly. "It's doing a lot better than his," She answered. "I'll take a look at it after we're done with him." "More importantly, how are you?" Yorke added. She paused for a moment and remained silent as she continued to examine Xiggores' torn apart ankle. She looked up from the bloody stump for a moment to look at Yorke. An image of Shinji replaced him for a split second but she quickly reminded herself, he's not Shinji. "I'm fine," She said and turned back to the leg, reaching for a nearby medical cloth and started to clean away some of the blood off the stump. "A little tired, but it's nothing I'll manage."
  3. Terra walked back towards her bed and crawled back in. She didn't know what to make of what just happened but frankly she didn't care right now. It was a bit too late for caring. Or rather, a bit too early. Actually she didn't know for sure, all she knew was that she was still dead tired. She tightened the blanket around her body. It seemed like a cold draft got into her room when she opened it. "Blasted greenhorns."
  4. << A power outtage, eh? Maybe I can just relive everything that I did when that huge blackout hit North America =P >> Terra was still browsing through the room assignments when the lights suddenly went out in the mess hall. She blinked, thinking that she may have gone blind. Then the red emergency lights turn on. "Phew." She stood still for a moment. Having no idea what to do. Looking around the red lit mess hall, she shrugged and started walking towards her living quarters. Reaching there within a matter of minutes, she grabbed the portable electronic book and turned it on. Thankfully the batteries would last for a few hours. She looked up, the red emergency light in her room was starting to annoy her eyes. She put the book back down and grabbed a chair. Dragging the chair across the floor she set it under the red light and stood up onto it. She reached up to pull of the plastic casing and then unscrewed the lightbulb. Her room became dark except for the glow from the electronic book. She stepped down from the chair and walked towards it. Picking it up, she crawled into bed and simply started reading. She still had quite a few chapters left in The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy.
  5. Terra was in a good mood. Which is really one of those things where people cannot decide whether or not it's a good thing. As soon as the Avenger had landed from the previous mission, she quietly giggled to herself as Scott, Evander and Goorit marched off following Kacur. Three of them, no doubt, were in trouble. After quicking heading back to the armoury and her quarters and stripping herself of all of the equipment and weaponry, she pretended to be bored and walked around the corridors of the base. Within a few minutes, she simply lazed around outside Kacur's office, listening to the shouting going on. It's so much fun hearing it being done to others. The yelling quickly died off and Terra decided it was best not to be seen eaves dropping. She quickly turned towards the mess hall and walked away. Once reaching the mess hall, she quickly looked what was available. "Oooh! Danishes" She lightly grabbed a blueberry danish with the tip of her fingers. She never liked getting her entire hand messy when she ate. She walked around as she took bites out of the danish. At a nearby bulliten board, the new room assignments were just recently posted. The first thing she noticed was that she was assigned her own room all for herself. That's not much of a surprise considering the freaking shit I did a few days ago, she thought to herself morbidly. But her mood quickly brightened up, Woo! I've got an entire room to myself! Don't have to worry about any roommates if I ever think about getting into a romp with some one. Not that there's anybody to do so with, she quickly realized. Ah well. She looked through the rest of the assignments, thinking about which pair of roommates would be fun to eavesdrop on. Scott and Evander... Hmm... Oh. She caught sight of the <unassigned> label beside Ralwell's and Kokinda's names. She tried to remember who Kokinda was but then realized she never met whoever that was yet. Hey? Kacur doesn't have a roommate assigned to him, she frowned slightly, noticing there was no <unassigned> by his name, or rather, he's gets his own room to himself. Bastard. Wonder what would happen if I asked to be assigned his roommate, the evil and chaotic part of her mind wondered. Ah, the fun that would ensue.
  6. As soon as Richter had made his announcement over the PA system, Terra was already awake and dressing into her uniform. People would look at her, she knew, but to hell with them. She was in no mood to simply mope around the base while everybody else got to play in the firing range. She had just finished pulling the zipper up her front when the knock and Kacur's voice came from her door. "Come in," she said outloud as she took the empty pistol and placed it into the holster on her hip. She'll have to go an exchange the empty clip for a fresh full one. Terra heard the door open up but didn't bother looking up. "I can already guess that Richter and probably you don't want me to participate in the training, but frankly, I've got nothing else to do."
  7. "I don't need help," Terra said to herself outloud enough so that Kacur could hear her. For a minute, she thought that she was in denial, that she was just saying that to get out of this messy situation. But she soon realized she wasn't lying to herself. "My problem is I'm stuck here, and I can't stand the isolation, it's like I've tripped up on LSD or acid and I've realized we're all just a dot in a constantly expanding universe. Even the aliens aren't more than a dot," Terra stopped, recollecting her thoughts again. "All I have to do is concentrate. When we get back to Earth, I can do whatever I want, when I'm back on Earth, I'll be mixed up in all things Earthy and I'll forget how big and empty this universe is." Terra pulled herself up and swung her legs over the side of her bed. "I've got to remember that I don't have a purpose, but that I can eventually make one for myself. "I'm sorry for trying to kill you, this'll sound weak, but it was seriously nothing personal."
  8. Terra relaxed in her bed. She slowly pulled out the pillow from under her neck and stuffed her face in it, using it to cover her face and hide herself. "No, I'm really not in the mood to be walking about right now," She muffled to Kacur through the pillow. "Frankly, I don't think I could leave this room for at least a month... Probably two..." She pulled the pillow down the bridge of her nose slowly to reveal her eyes. "Then again, there's the question of whether or not the Comnander would let me move around the base at all," She sighed heavily. "Good thing he left, or else I probably would've clubbed him half to death with the pistol... I've notice you're usually slow to react to anything I do that's remotely eccentric..." She looked up at the ceiling. She saw the wide arrangement of bullet holes scattered above her. "Crap. My aim blows."
  9. Terra heard a loud noise. Her eyes jerked open, she was in her room, Kacur was beside her bed. She realized that she woke up from her own snoring. Her back ached, and her neck was stiff, she felt the rest of her body waking up and she straightened herself out, feeling muscles and ligaments warm up and bones crack. She looked over to Kacur at the side of her bed. "Martin? I've only known you for a few weeks, I wouldn't share a bed with you yet." She grinned to herself. The grin disappeared as what she said sank it. What was Kacur doing in her room? She sat straight up with a jerk, feeling some of her back muscles disagreeing with her choice of moments. "Shit," She stared at Kacur, checking his chest, looking for where the pistol was jabbed into his chest. "Oh shit... Lieutenant... I'm so sorry..."
  10. Terra shook her head in the dark, trying to get Kacur's voice out of her mind. But the muffled sounds still came through... "...Including the Commander who is just leaving now..." Commander of? Terra's mind seemed to start back up from being dorment. Of X-Com. Murderers. The muscles moved painfully throughout her body as they began to move again. She quickly walked towards the door and reached for the handle. As she pulled open the door, the blinding bright lights in the corridor didn't slow her down as her eyes dialated and searched the corridors. Richter was nowhere in sight, but Martin was there in his uniform, psi-amp in one hand, and a look of shock on his face. A tint of yellow gold caught Terra's eyes and she jabbed her hand forward. The pistol she held in her hand smashed into Martin's chest forcing him back a few inches, the barrel placed directly over the golden X-Com insignia on his shirt. She pulled the trigger because Martin could react. She pulled it again just to listen to the clicking sound, to hear the hammer hit an empty chamber. After a few clicks her finger began to tire. Terra looked up from the X-Com insignia on Kacur's chest and looked into his face. "Martin..." She said lethargically and started to collapse, feinting towards the ground.
  11. Kacur's voice was soothing, somewhat. But still Terra didn't budge. She continued to stand tense and stiff. Wishing that nothing existed in the darkness.
  12. Loud, beating drums resonated throughout Terra's head. She could hear her own heartbeat pumping through the veins and arteries near her hears. She could feel her life beating through every inch of her body. She could feel the blood rush through her legs, her arms, her waist, torso, chest, face, mind and heart. All going in an endless circle, never reaching a goal. She was still standing in her room staying deathly silent, as if hoping those outside her room would go away. It was dark now, the light fixture was damaged by one of her tantrum shots and short circuited now. Her room was an abyss which contained her anger, frustration, sorrow and panic. It was focused on the only surely existing thing in the universe, herself. Not the solution? She mouthed to herself silently, tasting the salty tears near her lips. Of course it's not the solution, she thought to herself in the pitch dark. There are no solutions...
  13. << Oi! That's a lot of attention o_o; >> Terra stood in her poorly lit room, the empty pistol held by a finger in her right hand. She didn't move, there seemed no incentive to. Muffled cries and yelling came from her locked doorway. She stood there and listened to all the pointless voices outside her door, yammering and chattering aimlessly. A muffled yell came from outside, "Corporal Terra Fléche, I order you to open this door" She turned towards the door and screamed back as loud as her lungs could let her. "To hell with your orders! They all mean jack in this ass end of the galaxy" Anger trembled through her body but her tears didn't stop, instead they continued to fall down her cheeks as her body shuddered. Her grip on the pistol suddenly tightened. Her arm stiffened up. She was waiting for them to break through... << If you guys decide to break through the door, let me react first >>
  14. It was pitch black and Terra couldn't see anything anywhere in it. She rolled onto her right side on the bed and shut her eyes, trying to relax, trying to get some sleep, trying to forget everything that was happening. She couldn't. She wanted out of this situation. It seemed like things were improving. She was getting along relatively well with X-Com and its members. She was doing well on the missions with the others, hell, she got promoted to corporal! She was a freaking corporal now. A big freaking important corporal. For services rendered and contributed to the good cause of X-Com she was awarded a promotion. It meant squat to her. Sure, she attached the stripes to her uniform, but it was nothing more than a prefabricated textile attached to some useless uniform should could have never considered wearing. Kacur mentioned going insane without making any friends among the other X-Com members. It felt like she already was. She was trapped. Trapped in some far flung end of the galaxy alone without anyone she could truly trust or love or feel. She most definitely was already insane. Terra sat up in a fury, her arms flailing about pulling away the blankets and ripping it slightly. She couldn't take this anymore and wanted nothing to do with anything. She grabbed the nearest object she could grab and flung it against the wall near the light switch. Despite her emotional and mental entanglement she hit the switch, causing the lights in her room to turn on. She reached out and pulled open a nearby drawer reached in pulled out an X-Com pistol. With a single swift movement she rashly aimed the deadly end of the barrel towards her temple and squeezed the trigger. She squeezed it again, and again. But the trigger wouldn't budge. She let the pistol drop to her bed. She saw that she didn't hit the safety. Like many other things in the galaxy at that moment, the pistol seemed oddly confusing and complex to use. But also pointless. What was the point of a safety on a weapon? She thought to herself. Her mind racing, thinking irrational and inconclusive thoughts. Pointless, she answered herself. Pointless like everything else. Like everything. Every one. The frustration boiled up within her. She grabbed at the pistol again, unsafed it this time and fired rather aimlessly. She aimed straight towards the cieling and fired, pulling the trigger and relishing in the chaotic explosive sound of the gunfire. Despite its deafening sound, it oddly calmed her mind hearing something that seemed more chaotic and dangerous than her own thoughts, her own mind. She continued firing, putting hole after hole into the cieling above her watching the ejected brass casings fall and burn her expose arms. Eventually, she heard nothing more than the empty clicking noise of her pistol run dry. Tears travelled down her cheek. They created warm, wet, salty path ways down her face and onto her neck. She realized, that she should've saved a bullet for herself. <<Er... Yeah, angsty o_o; Anyway, uhm, probably horrible timing to be posting this Sunday morning (5:20 AM <_< but yeah, I guess we can try assuming it happens after today's mission and whoever wants to respond to it can post after todays sim.>>
  15. Terra took the corporal stripes from Kacur and stood there as he walked out of the door. She continued standing after he left and the door closed. She continued to stand in the middle of her room with her corporal stripes held loosely in her hand.
