For all you x-comers out there that like Interceptor. I came across this today that claims to fix the bug. I dont have a current game to test it out, but perhaps someone else does.
Direct Link to Zip Edit: a quick comparison of the executable shows a few minor changes to the and virus total finds no problems. The patch is based on 1.0. According the the v1.2 readme the only fixed are for joystick use (who besides me actually owns one) and and issue with Interpays online game finder. Unless your having those issues this patched exe should work.
the windows version runs incredibly fast on. while I get the graphics to work. i have not looked into doing anything to the speed. there are some other programs that attempt to adjust the speed. I recommend the DOS version in dosbox for better speed control.
You really shouldn't post full copies of the game. The reason this is having issues is f0dders loader is named as if it was the game exe. This is typical of warez copies. You would have had less issues with a copy from STEAM of D2D, they have the DOS version with DOSBox. it can run in a window or full screen with not color issues and is speed controlled. The lack of useful documentations on D3D windower is a problem. Unless it has a way to force launch a program from the command line then it would be a pain to integrate. Basically you have to install XcomUtil. setup D3Dwindower to point to geoscape.exe 0, geoscape.exe 1, and tactical.exe. (the numbers after .exe tell geoscape if it's being run the first time or after combat) then change runxcom to start D3Dwindower instead of geoscape or tatical. then each time the game transitions you have to select the correct icon in the GUI. Not fun, but workable.
It probably could. depends on how it interacts with the exe's. Can you give me an example of how you have it setup or link to some instructions and I can see if I can set something up. As for renaming the EXE what was it to begin with? and what distro were you using?
Recovering the IBA is dependent on the if a tile exists on the map(map.dat in a saved game) that is flagged as an IBA in the MCD entry. At the end of combat Tactical looks up the tile entry in the currently loaded MCD's finds the tile numbers that are flaged as IBA then searched the tactical map in memory for any tile with that number. it then updated the score and X-Com Base inventory. Changing the score file would not add one to inventory. Crashed UFO's have a chance of the IBA of exploding and not being recovered. IF you want a lot of loot you have to catch the UFO on the bottom. This makes for lower monthly scores (alien gets points and you miss out on the shot down points, plus the X-Com casualties can be higher.) but it's the only way to guarantee you get the hardware.
1. I have not messed with missions.dat yet so I can help. 2. They also can show up on Mixed race missions. 3. M.C. Readers are a little random on if they are carried but they are common enough it should not take long to find one. (assuming you dont blow everything up)

You probably have 1.2a (also not listed above is X-COM 1.0 (US version), Italian and Spanish versions) they all use the 0x18ACC for IGLOB.dat length. They have different sizes and some difference in other offsets. 3C is HEX for 60 Change it to 40 -Blade FireLight
