Tactical notes
Chompers are mutant dogs that attack by running up to your soldiers and savaging them with their jaws.
Chompers are not much of a threat to your squad unless your soldiers become separated. If that happens in an urban mission, remember that they cannot follow a soldier who slips between two closely parked cars or a human sized gap in a fence or a wall. It is usually best to bunch your soldiers together in the early missions against the transgenants before they start using area effect weapons.
Even the weak weapons available in the early missions can kill or disable a chomper without much difficulty providing you are able to concentrate your fire against it. Grenades are useful, although the size of a chomper and its relaxed gait can make it difficult to correctly estimate its speed.
It is possible to take a chomper alive, although they are too big to carry. A chomper will become unconscious when its health is reduced to 100 hit points or below, 8% of the starting total.
